I’ve had the privilege of leading our awesome community for 6 years, and ask for your support for a third (and final) term as your Mayor.

So much has been achieved already – the port rejuvenation; over 600 new housing sections; the Upokongaro cycleway bridge; securing over $100 million from Government for major projects; the wastewater plant; reducing Council debt; the climate change strategy; twice awarded most beautiful city; kerbside recycling; the Fitzherbert Ave extension; increased tourism.

There’s more to be done – completing the Port & Sarjeant Gallery; increasing housing supply; reinventing Kowhai Park; ensuring our young people are work-ready; planting one million trees.

I have built a strong team around the Council table and know what drives our community. My experience, prudence, strong connections with central government and media exposure have been invaluable. You can rely on me always to put Whanganui first.

Let’s keep Whanganui working. Vote Mayor Hamish.
