My principal place of residence is in the Whanganui District area.
I am 5th generation Whanganuian with a legacy of public service. Previous generations have been in local council and county politics.
Following education at Whanganui Collegiate School, Law at Victoria University, then London School of Economics, I returned to Wellington and Auckland as a lawyer-negotiator for union groups including airline pilots, and doctors. Various government roles in Industries Development Commission and NZ Airways Corporation. I was a government appointed employment mediator in Taranaki and Whanganui from 2000–2015.
During late 1980’s and 1990’s I was one of the initiators of the Old Town Group which revitalised and refurbished heritage buildings in the lower part of central city.
Community group involvement includes cycling, Cemetery Circuit, waka ama, rowing, opera. We are enduring tough times. We can build resilience with community action and co-operation. I can continue to help build our community-Council must lead this.
