Independent

My principal place of residence is in the Whanganui District area.

I am standing for Council because I want to help guide the exciting change and progress of Whanganui. My business experience and community acumen will help provide diversity of thought, and also considered decision-making at the Council table

Our future growth is inevitable, but no- one sector should be left behind.

I owned and operated Tamara Lodge for 26 years, selling in 2019. I have since developed Smithhouse, providing accommodation for visitors, a little more sedate than the backpackers.

I’m easy to find, particularly if you like coffee, and I enjoy being out in the community.

My involvement in our community includes six years on the Whanganui Chamber of Commerce, most recently as Deputy Chair, Director Whanganui and Partners Board, Whanganui Vintage Weekend Trustee and Shindig site manager, and am the appointee representing tourism on Te Kopuka responsible for developing the Whanganui River Strategy under the Te Awa Tupua legislation.
